West Virginia’s Coopers Rock State Forest is comprised of more than 12,000 acres of protected forestland that includes a state park boasting numerous overlooks, hiking trails, rock climbing, a campground, and more. At the very least, most day visitors make it a point to explore the main overlook located only a short distance from the parking area.
From the huge boulder lined on the edges with safety walls, you can marvel at the deep Cheat River canyon and the river itself as it snakes around the many turns.
But don’t underestimate or overlook the other sights to see in this park.
